Abilities: 

Transformation- like all fox demons she can change form at will. She doesn't use it often, because gumiho/kumiho are known to always have a fox like look to them no matter the form.

Cintamani / Fox Bead-  very few gumiho/kumiho are able to attain these without having connections or ties to the heavens. It fulfills wishes to those that attain it but hers was given to her as a gift by her parents. (See history) Hers allows her the unusual ability to have an affinity for plants. It's also why she's got white fur, despite not having nine tails yet.

Lotus Fire - A small loutus like flower that seems to be made of a white warm light. They can heal wounds, light areas and if need be suck life force. She would never use the last one but it can all the same. She generally congors them when needing light and to heal others quickly. If she is too sick or wounded herself they wilt rather quickly. They also are nice to hold in your hands when its cold.

Personality:  While coming off as rather reserved and shy to new people Joo is really quite playful and fun loving. Though surprisingly short with patience for someone so nice. Her work gives her peace and she buries herself in it to distract herself from thinking about her past (well that and reading). Her low self confidence  shows in her form as a lack of care for standard beauty (Ei: she is not pale or curvy, or wearing anything to help that etc). Shes considered more of a tomboy by her family as she climbs trees and often has to change and repair clothing. She is also not one to back down from doing the right thing. She is very determined about such things, so if you are a bully she wont like you at all. Easily surprised and impressed due to her lack of outside knowledge of the world (past what her parents taught her)

History:
515 years ago a small fox peered nervously from its hole at the snow covered forest. Hungry and inured the small thing had barely escaped the fox hunters and their dogs. Luckily a storm started during the chase and the humans gave up allowing the fox its escape. Weary and tried it hobbled out from the hole its fore paw still bleeding slightly, it needed to eat. Shaking it looked around for any other sign of life desperately hoping for something. It limped out farther and fell to the ground yipping in pain. As it struggled to stand once more it pleaded with the great sky to give it one last chance. The fox could do it, It knew so, all it needed.
The snow crunched softly as the fox collapsed again breathing hard. Then it heard the noise small feet like its own, it struggled to stand ready for an attack , but it could not, lifting its head it looked around to see a white fox sitting down beside it. The small fox jerked hard feeling its heart in its throat. It let loose a small whimper as it stared into the other foxes blue eyes , but something behind the white fox caught the small fox's eye. The white fox had a second tail.
Un-able to move as the white fox stood and sniffed the smaller fox's leg it heard a voice in its head. "Do not worry sister. You are safe now." Never in the small fox's life could it recall a kinder voice. Soon a warmth washed over both as a larger fox bearing three tails ,glittering like flames, lead the way for the two largest and most beautiful foxes the small fox had ever seen. Was this what death was like the small fox thought its heart a flutter.
"No my sweet child. This is coming home." Said one of the magnificent foxes stepping forward in a kind voice that put the small fox at ease.
"We are here to give you a place in our home. To live as you were meant to, a life of joy and happiness in the great sky." Said the other large and beautiful fox its nine tails wagging softly.
"All that you must do is say yes and you will be reborn as once were." said the fox of 3 flaming tails in a prideful tone.
"If not" the first two tailed fox chimed in, " You can stay as you are and live here in the world of man.
If the small fox could have cried it would have. A dream like this felt impossible, yet here they stood offering a life that a little fox like itself might only dream of.
"Yes! Yes! Yes!!!!" it thought desperate to leave such a painful life behind.
The first magnificent fox looked pleased beyond words. It stepped forward touching its beautiful head to the small orange fox's head. In a bright flash of light the small fox disappeared. And as the wind suddenly picked up and so too did the 4 white foxes that stood in the forest clearing. The only proof any of this occurred was the small pool of blood that stained the snow here the small fox once laid.
4 months later in the the heavenly home of Gu Dae-Min and Gu Hana, Gu Joo Eun was born, a fox of white and bearing one single tail. As a birth gift the newest fox was given a holy Cintamani to carry for all her days.

Family History:
Gu Joo Eun is a Gumiho/Kumiho of a Gu family of the Jade Court. (I am pretending that means a powerful Kumiho/Gumiho Family)
Both parents ( father: Dae-Min and mother: Hana  ) are very old Gumiho/Kumhio that were among those that were depicted in some of the earliest Korean stories of gumiho/kumiho. They were kind towards humans and rather naive of their treachery. But as their trust, like many Kumiho/Gumiho of their time, was betrayed the pair began to pull away from humanity. The pair abstained from the more popular ideas of vengeance in the Gumiho/Kumiho population and took it upon themselves to still do good where they could. Granting gifts in the guise of spirits and kind people, as well as traveling. The gods praised Dae-Min and Hana for pressing on in this way, allowing them the honor of being like their cousins the Kitsune and Huli Jing and be capable of a place in the Jade Court. For every great good the two foxes helped cause , the gods would grant them a cintamani with the promise any of these could grant them entrance to the court of the heavens. Together Dae-Min and Hana amassed 10 Cintamani in all before they longed for a more sedentary life together.  After the many years of good deeds an adventures the pair on their 1100 year were wed and they decided tried to create a powerful Gumiho/Kumiho family.

They decided that giving birth to pups and waiting to see which ones lived to 100 years of life would be the best way. While many of their initial litters of young did not survive to their first 100 years two special pups did, a male and a female. In an act of joy Dae-Min decided then it was time to build estate and home for he and Hana's growing family, one that kept them safe from the growing cruelties of man and allowed Dae-Min and Hana's children a life better than the one their parents once knew. After giving the jade king one cintamani as was promised, Dae-Min and Hana were considered heavenly messengers and guardians of heaven. Excited to have more little ones in the family Dae-Min and Hana would ,only leave their heavenly home to, have more litters of pups on earth in the hopes some if not most would be reborn as Kumiho/Gumhio to add strength to their family.  (It should be mentioned that not all Gu families are great for the same reasons this one is a rarity. Its up to you if your character looks down on such a family or not, but do know you are allowed to.)

This Gu family is well off by this time and have successfully had 5 (surviving) pups.  Dae-Min and Hana are Gumiho far older than 1000 years by now and are quite powerful/well known in the jade court, having cut themselves off from humanity long ago.

Sibu info!:
Gu Hei Cho the eldest , Gu Cha Bin the second eldest, Gu Joo Eun the third and Gu Kyu Min the youngest ,are all Dae-Min and Hana's daughters.
Hei Cho is the only actual Kumiho/Gumiho (referring to the nine tails specifically)of the 4 daughters so far.
Cha Bin was an 8 tailed fox, but before she could reach her ninth tail she fell for a human. They ran away together, Cha Bin asking her younger sisters to keep the secret of where she went. Joo Eun and Min kept this secret. Cha Bin and her lover  went through much together, going through the steps to become human, but sadly his greedy and cruel friends found out her secret and killed Cha Bin.
JooEun is a 5 tailed fox and had looked up to Cha Bin, and when she realized what happened she was terrified and tried to get help. Hei Cho was furious with both her younger sisters and began to hate all humans. Joo Eun while she did not hate them as Hei Cho did, but she could not forgive herself or humans for what they had done. So she ran away from her family in shame.
Kyu Min is the youngest a 3 tailed fox. She was so scared from having actually seen Cha Bin's dead body, that she no longer could/would take human form.  From them on she kept herself close to Joo Eun afraid to loose the love of her last sister, going so far as to run away with her. Kyu Min believes that Hei Cho's rage meant she hated both she and Joo Eun and often is scared their parents felt the same.

Additional Information:

She smells of blossoming flowers after the rain
Because she is not a nine tail she does not have the full control over her Cintamani
That said the Cintamani is deeply connected to her and she could die if its away from her for too long
Enjoys kind people and children and will go out of her way help those who need her aid
She was raised as a lady of the jade court and is very knowledgeable in things of that nature.
She is a tad "spoiled" for that reason accustomed to a nicer way of life
She ran away from home because of her sisters death blaming herself
She will try to avoid the subject as much as she can

She is almost always in this form rarely taking fox form unless threatened or very scared
She loves taking baths if she gets the chance
She is very embarrassed if her real forms are witnessed and refers to it as if she was seen naked.
